WHICH OPTION IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Start with what you want to change.
Not sure? Pick "Not sure" on the form. We'll look at your cabinets and tell you honestly which option makes sense.
“I want a new color.”
“I like wood, it just looks worn.”
“I want a different door style.”
Cabinet Painting
We degrease, sand, prime and spray your existing doors, drawers and frames in any color, from soft white to navy or matte black. The surface comes out smooth, with no brush marks.
Best if: Your cabinets are solid but the color or wood tone feels dated.
Typical cost: $4,775–$8,000
Timeline: 10–14 days
Cabinet Refinishing
We clean off years of grease, repair dings, and apply a durable new clear coat so the natural grain looks rich again instead of tired. Want a new stain color? We can quote that too.
Best if: You have solid wood cabinets and want to keep the wood look.
Typical cost: $4,775–$8,000
Timeline: 10–14 days
Refacing & New Doors
We keep your cabinet boxes and layout, install new custom doors and drawer fronts (like modern Shaker), finish the frames to match, and add soft-close hinges.
Best if: Your boxes are sound but the doors are damaged, or you want a new style.
Typical cost: $7,500–$15,000
Timeline: Quoted per project
Add-on to any option: hardware upgrades. New pulls and knobs, soft-close hidden hinges and full-extension drawer slides, installed while your cabinets are already apart.
WHY NOT JUST REPLACE THEM?
Most cabinet boxes are fine. It's the finish that's tired.
Solid cabinet boxes don't wear out. Keeping them saves you the cost and the mess of tearing out a kitchen that already works.
HOW IT WORKS
Five steps. No demolition. No surprises.
You'll know the price, the color and the schedule before any work begins.
Your doors are finished in our shop, not your kitchen. That keeps most of the spraying, and the mess, out of your home. Every finish is backed by our 5-year warranty against peeling and chipping.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What homeowners ask before they call.
Have a question that isn't here?
Call or text and you'll get a real person, not a call center.
How long does it take?
Most kitchens are finished in 10 to 14 days. Refacing is scheduled per project, and you'll get the timeline with your quote.
Can we still use our kitchen during the work?
Your doors and drawer fronts go to our shop to be sprayed, so the work in your home is mostly on the cabinet frames. We'll tell you up front which days the kitchen is off-limits so you can plan around them.
Will you protect my floors, counters and appliances?
Yes. Before any sanding or spraying, we cover and mask everything that isn't being finished, and cabinet frames are sprayed with dust control.
How messy is it?
There's no demolition and no tear-out. The heaviest work, spraying doors and drawer fronts, happens in our shop, not your house.
Will the finish hold up?
We clean, degrease and sand every surface. Paint jobs are primed with Zinsser shellac or Chemcraft AquaPrime, then sprayed with professional Akzo Nobel Chemcraft waterborne coatings (Aquaset for painted cabinets, Aqualux and Uniclear clear coats for refinishing). Tougher two-part (2K) finishes from Milesi and Chemcraft AquaDuro are available too. Every finish is backed by our 5-year warranty against peeling and chipping.
Can I change the color? The door style?
Yes to both. Painting changes the color on your existing doors. Refacing replaces the doors and drawer fronts with a new style, like Shaker, and we finish the frames to match.
Can I upgrade hardware and hinges?
Yes. We install new pulls and knobs, soft-close hidden hinges and full-extension drawer slides. It's easiest to do while your cabinets are already apart.
Do I have to replace my whole kitchen?
Usually not. If your cabinet boxes are solid, a new finish or new doors gives you a new-looking kitchen without new cabinets. If yours aren't a good candidate, we'll tell you.
How does pricing work?
Most average kitchens run $4,775–$8,000 to paint or refinish and $7,500–$15,000 to reface. After a free in-home visit, you get a firm, written price before anything starts.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Sapphire Cabinet Co. is licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB #263309), bonded and insured. Look up our license on the CCB site →
